Adam, Eden, God, healing, heaven, Jesus, Praise, Resurrection, Reunion, second coming

One of my favourite authors had a picture given to her of the great reunion that is coming soon.  I did a little editing for length.

“(At the second coming) The living righteous are changed “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.” At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels “gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers’ arms. Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part, and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God.

Before entering the City of God, the Saviour bestows upon His followers the emblems of victory and invests them with the insignia of their royal state… Upon the heads of the overcomers, Jesus with His own right hand places the crown of glory. For each there is a crown, bearing his own “new name” (Revelation 2:17), and the inscription, “Holiness to the Lord.”

As the ransomed ones are welcomed to the City of God, there rings out upon the air an exultant cry of adoration. The two Adams are about to meet. The Son of God is standing with outstretched arms to receive the father of our race—the being whom He created, who sinned against his Maker, and for whose sin the marks of the crucifixion are borne upon the Saviour’s form. As Adam discerns the prints of the cruel nails, he does not fall upon the bosom of his Lord, but in humiliation casts himself at His feet, crying: “Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain!” Tenderly the Saviour lifts him up and bids him look once more upon the Eden home from which he has so long been exiled.

The Saviour leads him to the tree of life and plucks the glorious fruit and bids him eat. He looks about him and beholds a multitude of his family redeemed, standing in the Paradise of God. Then he casts his glittering crown at the feet of Jesus and, falling upon His breast, embraces the Redeemer. The family of Adam take up the strain, “Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and lives again!” and cast their crowns at the Saviour’s feet as they bow before Him in adoration.

This reunion is witnessed by the angels who wept at the fall of Adam and rejoiced when Jesus, after His resurrection, ascended to heaven, having opened the grave for all who should believe on His name. Now they behold the work of redemption accomplished, and they unite their voices in the song of praise.”

Would you like to be there?

As I expand my understanding of mental health I have to admit that I know nothing about Dissociative Identity Disorder. This post from MakeItUltra was a helpful overview and I hope you find it beneficial.

Written by Eric C., MA., PhD Candidate Audio version available | Click here Dissociative Identity Disorder, previously known as multiple personality disorder is a complex psychological disorder, which is difficult to diagnose and controversial. It is characterized by severe episodes of dissociation. Dissociative behavior can be divided into two categories: detachment and compartmentalization. Detachment is […]

exercise, healthy

If you’re trying to be healthy, it’s likely you have been told or have figured out your BMI or Body Mass Index. BMI is calculated by taking a person’s weight in kilograms (kg) divided by his or her height in meters squared. For those of you in the USA, I realize you’re probably thinking kilo-whats?? Sorry for going metric on you but that’s just way it is.

Anyway, BMI is used for all sorts of determinations – medical procedures, insurance, and so on. But here’s the thing…

It’s Barely Meaningful Information.

If you’ve been looking at your BMI and beating yourself up you need to know that it doesn’t tell you anything real about yourself. Should you consider a healthier more active lifestyle? Maybe. Maybe you’re okay as you are right now. The point is, don’t let your BMI mess with your head.

Check out this short video on the truth about BMI.

This is another great post from BeautyBeyondBones. There’s the start of the post below, The one thing she wrote that caught me was:

“Often times, I’d catch myself getting inside my own head. I’d be feeling annoyed or exhausted, or emotionally spent and frazzled with absolutely zero patience left, and God would remind me to step outside myself.”

Give the whole post a read.

Well, here we are, trudging through May. Somehow, we’re already on the second week, and if you’re feeling like time is traveling at breakneck speed, then get in line. I’ve received a lot of messages from thoughtful, lovely humans asking how my mom is doing in her stroke recovery. And, honestly, she’s doing amazing. She […]

Who doesn’t appreciate a good joke? Here’s short article discussing how healthy laughter is. If you’re brave enough, I would be interested in your all time favourite clean joke, favourite comedy, or favourite comic strip. Leave a comment!

“Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband’s lap.” ~Unknown 1900 BC The worlds oldest recorded joke dates back to 1900 BC. This joke proves that toilet humor has been around for a very long time along with mankind’s need to laugh. We live in a […]

bones, dairy, disease, health, meat, myths, no meat, plant based, Protein

I believe that there’s plenty of evidence that a plant based diet is healthiest and actually is good for mental health, too. As I was making the transition to a mostly meat diet to a plant based diet I had to wade through a lot of myths. Fortunately for you, I just came across a short article called Top 8 Myths About Eating Vegan, Busted by Naomi Imatome-Yun that covers the main ones. You’re welcome.

Here are some highlights:

MYTH: It’s hard to get enough protein on a plant-based diet.

MYTH: There is no proof that a plant-based diet is healthier than other diets.

MYTH: You’ll get weak and frail on a vegan diet.

MYTH: We need milk and dairy products for strong bones.

If you haven’t tried going plant based, I suggest you give it a try for a few weeks or even a month. See what happens.

Here’s an interesting post on Emotional Vampires. I’m not sure that I have encountered a person like this but I think the principles are important for any kind of toxic or abusive person.  Here’s a quote:

“It is important to be decisive, direct and non-reactive when dealing with emotional vampires. Remember, emotional vampires can be quite charming. Establishing boundaries early will help. But, don’t be afraid to set a new precedent with an emotional vampire, even if you know they will react negatively. Set an intention that you will not be an emotional prisoner to anyone.”

Mommy Dearest

Whether it’s mother’s day or every day, a toxic mom wreaks a special kind of destruction.  Check out this insightful post from Cherilyn. One statement that jumped out to me was:

“Much of what a narc mother is worried about is what other people think, while you are grasping for identity and authenticity and just struggling to survive in what seems like an undertow…” I actually witnessed this happening to a person I really care about. It was horrible.

Many people of narcissistic mothers meet and share a similar anxiety and shame, yet when they compare notes, they are surprised to discover their mothers are so different. This is because they don’t realize there is more than one type of narcissistic mother. In his book, “The People of the Lie,” M. Scott Peck talks about […]

Shut Up

Got this from a friend. Not sure why.

Twenty occasions where we should keep our mouths shut:Proverbs 21-23

1. In the heat of anger. Proverbs 14:17

2. When you don’t have all the facts. Proverbs 18:13

3. When you haven’t verified the story. Deuteronomy 17:6

4. If your words will offend a weaker brother. 1 Corinthians 8:11

5. If your words will be a poor reflection of the Lord or your friends and family. Peter 2:21-23

6. When you are tempted to joke about sin. Proverbs 14:9

7. When you would be ashamed of your words later. Proverbs 8:8

8. When you’re tempted to make light of holy things. Ecclesiastes 5:2

9. If your words would convey a wrong impression. Proverbs 17:27

10. If the issue is none of your business. Proverbs 14:10

11. When you are tempted to tell an outright lie. Proverbs 4:24

12. If your words will damage someone’s reputation. Proverbs 16:27

13. If your words will destroy a friendship. Proverbs 25:28

14. When you are feeling critical. James 3:9

15. If you can’t speak without yelling. Proverbs 25:28

16. When it is time to listen. Proverbs 13:1

17. If you may have to eat your words later. Proverbs 18:21

18. If you have already said it more than one time (and it becomes nagging). Proverbs 19:13

19. When you are tempted to flatter a wicked person. Proverbs 24:24

20. When you are supposed to be working instead. Proverbs 14:23

Here’s the thing that occurred to me. The Bible verses are a nice reinforcement but do you really need the Bible to tell you any of the above? Don’t they seem like things decent human beings, just like you, would do?
