Good mental health is supported by being active. For me, that means preparing for and participating in triathlons. I found an article in Triathlete magazine called: 3 Strength Exercises That Are a Waste of Your Time. I encourage you to read the whole article for their reasons and the benefits to the alternative exercises they suggest. Here’s just the highlights:
Don’t: Calf Raises
Do: One-Leg Hop
Don’t: Smith Machine Squats
Do: Regular Squats
Don’t: Curls
Do: Pull-up/Chin-up
Interesting take on these exercises.
A few of my trainer/physio friends gave me a hard time about this article. They said it all depends on each person and their goals.
Yes, there are always different approaches in the goal to remain physically fit. I watch, read and listen to all but then its my body that sets the coarse. The greatest thing is we are being active.
Agreed. Here’s something you might like. I am not endorsing everything this guy says or does. In fact, I enjoy his posts just to hear his wife talk in the background.

Sounds great. We’ll check it out. We learn from all and some things may sound obtuse but after trying what they are talking about it works. It is great to grow and learn from all.
